How embaresing that it has been almost a year since I have last blogged about my beautiful family. Alot has changed in our life in the northwoods! We have welcomed a baby girl into our family on November 4th at 11:30 a.m., have moved into my sister-in-laws home until we build in the spring. We are very blessed.

Hello my family and friends. I have been working on getting things updated on the blog. You will see that I have started to do 2010 in review. Please visit back again soon for more pictures. The best part... I have found that I have blogspot on my droid phone. Yay! Maybe, I can be better at this than I was before.

As you could about imagine, things have really changed for us in the last year. We were certainly blessed in 2010, so much that our days were busy between spending time with one another at home, traveling to see family and friends and work, we didn't find much time to update our blog so our family and friends would know what we have been up to. I have certainly been reminded by some (you know who you are :). I am usually not a person that does new years resolutions.... but this will be something that I am going to try to do better at this year.

Sitting, Teething, OH MY!

What en exciting week we have had. Logan has officially started sitting up without any support. It only took him a week to figure things out on his own. It certainly is amazing that he can do this on his own already! He absolutly loves it, he can now see everything and is able to keep himself occupied for almost an entire half hour.

Logan has also cut his first tooth as of Sunday. We were shocked! I was anticipating a cranky little boy before we got any teeth, but he is acting completely normal, lets pray that this continues! We will get a good picture posted soon. An update on his eating... we continue to experiment with differnt vegitables. He really likes carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans but is not a huge fan of peas. It has been alot of fun experiementing! He is eating oatmeal for breakfast and rice cereal for supper with veggies. We have also given him some of the puffs snacks and seems to really like them.

We went for our first walk using our "hiking" back pack for Logan. It was an average temperature date and it was nice to get out and enjoy the afternoon. Logan really enjoyed it and even got a little nap in on the way home. We hope to get to use this more often as the temperature get nicer.

Ohhh, so tired! Logan continues to sleep pretty good. He goes down for bed around 8:00 p.m. and will wake up around 4:30 for a diaper change and a quick bottle and back to sleep until about 7 a.m.

We have his six month check up on Thursday.

23 weeks...

Logan has never been completely happy laying on the floor. When he is laying on the floor he is rolling, scooting accross to get toys or get to anything that he wants. So we started this week helping him sit up. It has been really fun to see that every day he can sit alone for a few more seconds each time!

Logan has really started to get curious. He has been exploring as much as we will let him. He is always pulling my hair, putting his fingers in my mouth, eyes and ears.

Logan must be starting to teeth as he always has something in his mouth and is drooling like crazy. This has been really fun when he is blowing bubbles and his drool everywhere. He seems to have a good time as it not only makes a mess, but alot of noise. He has sure found his voice this week too, alot of dadadada coming out. I am sure trying to push mamamama, but it doesn't seem to be working.

This is Logans angry face when he is waiting for supper to be served. Watch out, he is just like his mom, when he is hungry, he wants food now!

He is really enjoying his rice cereal and would eat alot more of it if we let him. We will be soon starting to make him his baby food. It will be fun to experiment to see what he likes.

What a week we have had! How much fun it has been, there is something new every day. Logan has also been enjoying his baths and thinks it is really fun to splash as much as he can! We are usually drenched by the end of bath time as well as our counters and floors. It is one way to clean the house!

A bunch of firsts for the New Year!

Hello Family and Friends.

We have not done a very good job of staying up on blogging! So, for the past day and a half, I have been working on updating everyone for the past three months of our life in the Felton household. Logan is one happy baby always smiling and is such a blessing to be around. John was laid off the week before deer opener and is now staying home as Mr. Mom, while I am back to work full time. I have started a new position, which has made me very busy, but I am able to work from home, so that helps!

There has been a lot of "firsts" since we last blogged, you will see them in the below posts... He has been rolling over and really enjoys playing on his belly now. It is always fun to see where he is at in the crib in the morning... we always get a laugh out of it. He is one super strong boy, that is for sure! He has been "standing" with help for a couple of months and it has been fun to see that he is almost able to sit by himself. Pretty soon he should be able to.

We have heard alot of chuckles over the past couple of months, but no belly laughs yet. They are coming soon, or so that is what I keep telling myself.

Every day there is something new, what a fun age it is! We love having our little family and even have found it fun to just hang out at home the three of us. We are lucky to have alot of friends that either have little ones around Logan's age or little ones on the way. It will be fun to raise children together with our friends.

We will do better at keeping everyone posted on what is going on. Please come visit us anytime!

Go Vikings!!!

We went to Logan's first Vikings Game on Sunday. He did really well once we got there, unfortunatly it was super cold out and had to stand in some lines to get there. We took the light rail from the Mall of America and stood in line way too long there. However on the way home, there was a man that brought us to the front of the line to get us back home sooner. He had alot of fun and seems to like watching crowds (just like his mother). Grandma and Grandmpa Heng and Uncle Tim joined us, it was our Christmas present to one another.

Since we were down in the cities for the weekend, we also were able to visit Cousin Kendra and Lynelle. It was a nice weekend, but Logan is still wore out.

On Christmas Eve we went to Great Grandma and Granpa Hengs in Barnesville. We do this every year! Logan was the center of attention with all of the cousins, aunts and uncles! It is personally my favorite day of the year, how much fun to be able to have all of our family together!

The past few years, we have gone to a place in Backus, MN to cut down a Christmas tree, but we learned this year that they have since closed down. So we decided to make a trip to Guthrie, MN and it was well worth it! We got a ride from horses to where we found our tree, cut it down and then made it back to the warming house before we headed back home to decorate. It was a lot of fun, we plan to back again next year with the entire Felton Family!

Cousin Breanna's Dance Recital and Band Concert

One thing that we have learned is that Logan loves to be among crowds. We have brought him to both Breanna's dance recital and band concert and he has enjoyed both of them. He was mesmarized by the dancers and didn't say a peep. During the band concert, he even took a nap, now if I could get Breanna over here to play for him when he doesn't want to go to sleep!

Excersaucer vs. Jumperoo

Oh how much fun has the excersaucer and jumperoo been?!?! Logan is still a bit short for his jumperoo, he has been using it, we have to put a blanket under him for his feet to touch the floor. It has been alot of fun seeing Logan get so strong! He would sit in one or the other all day long if we let him!

Dr. Smith gave us the go ahead to start Logan on rice cereal. Here are pictures from our first attempt. He wasn't so certain what to do, but has certainly gotten the hang of it pretty quick!

4 Month Check Up

We had a 4 montch check up with Dr. Smith on December 3rd. Logan weighed 16 pounds 3 ounces, was 26 and a half inches and his head circumference was 44cm. That put him in the 75% for his weight, 90th percent for height and over 90% for his head circumference. He is doing pretty good though. You will notice in alot of the pictures that Logan has scratched all over his face. He has some eczema. (got that from Granpa Heng). He will scratch until he has is bleeding, so we are working on getting that cleared up. Other than that he is a healthy and happy little boy!!

A trip back to Fargo/Moorhead

We have made a few trips back to see some family and friends back in Fargo/Moorhead. The first few pictures are from visiting with Katie, Aaron and Maddie. We were also able to visit Alissa and Clara. Clara absolutely loved Logan's turtle, I think she even tried to hide it hoping we would forget it there! We also made a trip to see Great Grandma Johnk. She sure loves her great grandson!

Switching to formula.

Once I went back to work full time, I was not able to keep up with Logan. So we decided to switch him to formula. He made it until about 4 months, he recieved at least one meal of his mommy's milk until five months. I had to take a short work trip to Washington D.C. the begining of December. We decided that it would be the last time. It was a tough time to not see Logan for a few days, so we decided to get Skype all set up on my work computer. So we were able to "see" eachother every day. It was nice to see he got excited when he heard my voice... too bad he didn't really figure out where I was at!

Hunting Season

We enjoy every minute that we can spend time with our grandparents. We do take road trips to see G and G Heng on a regular basis, we also get to bring our four legged grandson to visit! We are sure learning that we need to either pack light or get a bigger car!

G and G Felton just live right down the street and because of that, we don't take alot of pictures, we will need to get better at that!

Twisting, Turning and Rolling

Logan has been rolling around like crazy, he first rolled over at 11 weeks from his back to his tummy. He was really upset and crying and sort of did it on accident, however he has sure figured things out now! He rolled over from his back to his belly for the first time when he was calm on November 26th. We sure can't let him be alone anymore, he can roll from one side of the room to another. He just recently started scooting, I have a feeling before we know it he will be crawling.

Logans first Halloween we decided to go and surprise Grandma and Grandpa Heng for the weekend. We also made a special trip to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Heng and Jim and Barb S. in Barnesville. Pumpkin Patch

This year we went to a pumpkin patch near Park Rapids. Unfortunatly, it was raining and cold, so we didn't have the best weather. We then had our neice, nephew and Johns sister over to carve pumpkins and decorate sugar cookies. It was alot of fun and we plan to do it again next year!

I never mentioned that my girlfriends from "back home" threw me a shower when Logan was a couple of months old. Jessica, Katie and Sharla. It was alot of fun to see my girlfriends and have them meet Logan. I unfortunately didn't get any photos during the shower, but got a few of the kiddos. The first picture is of Logan and Braxton, they are only a couple of weeks apart (Tonya's little boy) and then the second is of Logan and Makena (Jess's little girl) We are so lucky and blessed to have such good friends!!

2 Month Check Up

We met with Dr. Smith on Wednesday October 6th for his 2 month check up. Logan weighs 12 pounds, 5 ounces and is now in the 75th%. He is also in the 75th% for his height and continues to be in th 90th % for his head. He was upset when we got there but even more upset when we had his vacinations (three shots and an oral). He was pretty good for the rest of the day, just a bit fussy. We then went down to St. Cloud for the rest of the week with Grandma Heng as mom had training down there for work. Logan and Grandma Heng were able to hang out all day on Thursday and Friday. Sounds like everyone had a good time!

Day Care

After bringing Logan with me to business meetings and everywhere with me for work, it was decided to put him into daycare one day a week until John gets laid off in November. For the most part, Logan did really well coming to work with me, but since I am starting a new position and don't know everyone in the new communities, I thought it would be better to have him in day care on the days that I have business meetings. Although I was sad to have to do this, it worked out really well. Melinda said that he did really well and we tried a few new things... the bottle that we had been using was causing too many air bubbles, so we tried another bottle and then we also had to supplement him with formula for one feeding. Logan is still feeding very frequently, so it is hard to get extra milk. He did well with a different bottle and was able to digest the formula. We have tried a few different bottles and think we have found a different one for when he is at daycare.

Once John goes back to work in April, we will put Logan into daycare three days a week as I will be working from home 2 days a week. We are so blessed.

Our Road Trip to Duluth

We went on a road trip with our friends Amy, Ryan and Gavin the first weekend of October. We stayed at the KOA in Cloquet, Mn. in one of their rustic kabins. We went there to explore the northshore in a hunt for the fall leaves. It was very pretty, unfortunatly the weather was not the best, but that is ok, we had a great time anyways! The boys did a really good, which will make it easier for us to go on another trip with them, in fact we have a few trips planned already!

Baptism

Logan was baptised on September 13th at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker, MN. Grandma Heng made Logan his baptismal outfit from her wedding gown. What a great thing for him to wear on the day of his baptism.
Pastor Mark baptised Logan. He also baptised John and married us in Moorhead. We are very lucky to have him as a part of all of our ceremonies.

Logan had two sets of God Parents, Uncle Tim (Kelly's Brother) and Aunt Janice (John's Sister), and Aaron and Katie Anderson, Kellys friend from grade school. Logan is very blessed to have all of them in this journey with him.

We also took advantage of having everyone there to do some generation pictures. Below is Great Grandma Helen and Grandma Heng.

It was a very busy weekend, not only did we have Logan's baptism, we also put new shingles on the house. Grandpa Heng came early to help out (which is great, we would have never been able to get it done with out him). We also had alot of friends come and help us out with this project! Uncle Tim seems to be here everytime we have a project, not looking forward to the next time we make it to Nevada, he probably has a list of things for me to do.

Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day weekend we decided to take up Mike and Theresa's offer to go boating. Logan did great, actually slept through everything! It was a beautiful day, probably the nicest of the summer so we were excited to get out of the house.

1 month check up

We went to the Dr. on September 3rd for Logan's one month check up. He weighed 9lb. 9oz, was 21 3/4 inches and his head grew 2 cm. I can't believe how much he has changed over the last few weeks. I would have pictures up here, but my computer won't cooperate with me. I will get some up soon.

We are feeding on his schedule now, which really hasn't changed much from the previous Dr. orders. We are sitting down to feed every other hour during the day and then at night he gives us about 5 hours or so of sleep, which is great!!

I think that we enjoyed Logan's first parade more than he did. After hanging out with the Heng Family at a shower, we went to the parade for a while with Great Grandma and Grandpa and Great Aunt Connie and Uncle Tim. We were so worried about the fire trucks we covered his ears... he may have only gotten scared a few times. He was out like a light when we got home!

What am I, a milk machine?

Well as you can tell our second week was alot of feedings! Logan has been latching on like a champ, but we are sure getting tired of feeding 10-12 hours a day. Things are getting better though, so hopefully with time we can get that cut down! He has been sleeping fairly well waking up usually around midnight-one o'clock and again between five and six... Dr. Smith gave me the go ahead to have Logan sleep at least on stint of 5-6 hours without a feeding. We have been trying to get that during the night so we can get a few extra hours, but he continues to wake up every three or so. Someday!!
We have been fortunate within the last week to continue to have alot of visitors. Jodi met us in Pine River at my work for a visit while she was in Little Falls for work and Aaron, Emily and Avery came over from Park Rapids. It has been fun to show our little guy off to everyone.

Last weekend we made a quick trip back to my parents lake place to introduce Logan to Great Grandma Helen and then we headed to Barnesville to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Heng. He did well for his first night away from home and didn't keep the entire family up, which I was really worried about. Great Grandma Helen said that she didn't mind and could turn the TV up if she heard him crying. I didn't hear any complaints from the Grandparents, they were just tickled to have some more time with him.

While we were visiting in Barnesville, we decided to make a quick trip to Fargo to meet Amy and Ryan baby Gavin. It was super fun to visit and catch up on how things are going with them.

Just a note on Ace and Gaddie. Appears that they are not becoming better friends... Ha!! They are still not certian what is going on with Logan, but they keep on sniffing him. Gaddie has started to check out Logan while I am feeding him and sits right on my lap with him. With time Logan is going to have some great pets! Ace is just having some problems with sleep deprivation too.

We of course has a few first this week with Logan. He had his first bath in his bathtub which resulted in making more of a mess... that pee can sure fly!! (I am sure he is going to love this when he gets older) We tried to videotape, which would have been great, but for some reason it didn't record. John also went back to work this week, which was hard, but not nearly has hard as I had thought. We went on our first walk, which was great! We have been on a few more walks since, but not nearly as far as before. I can't wait until I am fully healed from the c-section to get back out there!

We also decided that it would be good to do a trial run before Logan's baptism. We made it through our first Church service this morning. We were pretty proud even to get out of the house and there on time, let alone getting him through most of the service only needing to change one diaper and leave once for a little crying. He seemed to be pretty interested in the hymns and was mesmerized by all the lights! Hopefully he will do this good during baptism. After Church we had the Felton's over for Grandpa Felton's 76th birthday party.

Anyone that is interested in coming to Logan's baptism is welcome, it will be on September 13th here in Walker. If you plan to make it, let me know so we can get a cabin for you at the resort.

2nd visit to the Doctor

We went back to the Dr. and Logan weighed in at exactly his birth weight! I have to continue to feed him on an every other hour basis for another week and then we will finally be on his schedule. It will be interesting to see how often he will be hungry.

Logan's belly button has not completely healed yet, (it continues to bleed) so he used some silver nitrate to stop the bleeding, if this doesn't heal soon, we will have to go back in.

Our next scheduled appointment is September 3 for his one month check up.

Follow up Doctor's Appointment

We went to the Dr. on Friday August 14 for a follow up after being discharged from the hospital. Dr. Smith didn't think that we needed to check his Jaundice as he said that looked pretty good! He weighed in at 7 lbs 9 oz, which was still below his birth weight, but he had gained back to his discharge weight from the hospital. He was in the 50th percentile for his height and weight but in the 90th percentile for his head circumference. The nurse had to come back in to check again... all the more room for his HUGE brain! I knew we were going to have a smart boy, ha! Logan also developed a rash from the hot weather that we had the week he came home, along with another type of rash that John and I can neither remember or if we did can't pronounce... We head back to the Dr for another appointment on the 19th to check out his weight again. The Dr. has me waking Logan up to feed him about every other hour to get his weight back up! Let the sleepless nights begin.

It has been over a week since Logan joined our family. Wow, where has the time gone? I do have to say that being a parent is a lot more time consuming than I thought! So for those of you that have been nice enough to call, text, e-mail I am sorry that I have not gotten back to you. I feel like I am either feeding, burping or trying to get a few zzz's in before the next round. Although we love every minute of it, I now understand what people mean by "When Logan sleeps, you sleep". Got it!! It sure does make me appreciate having such wonderful parents! Talking about wonderful parents, Grandma Heng has gone above and beyond on Grandma duty. She has been able to come and stay on two different occassions, most recently this week. She was here to help me out when I had to do a few things for work. She was able to help Logan out when I had 17 9th-12th graders here at my house and a production crew! We made a video for a campaign that we are working on to be played in the local theater. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

It will be a week tomorrow that we have been home from the hospital. We have been blessed to have a lot of friends and family to come and visit us! Katie, Maddie and Margo came to visit from Moorhead on Friday. Theresa, Mike and John have been so good to us and brought us breakfast and supper on Saturday! Sunday was also a very special day, Grandpa Felton (and Grandma Felton) came to meet Logan and Grandpa Heng couldn't stay away so he made another day trip!

We have had a few "firsts" this short time we have been home, including our first bath, the oops, we need to be careful with changing diapers (boys have some good aim!). We also have made it out of the house for an outing on Tuesday, we went to my work at the Family Center and to Johns work at Northwoods Dock. We quickly found out that we were not ready when we got almost to my work in Pine River (about 20 minutes away) and forgot the diaper bag! Oh boy!! We have also made a trip to meet all the ladies at the grocery store that work with Grandma Felton. Logan was sure the talk of the store!

Home Sweet Home!

We made it back home last night about 7:30 p.m. I was discharged from the hospital at noon on Thursday, but we had to be moved to the pediatrics unit as Logan still had Jaundice. His levels finally did go down later in the day and he was discharged around 5:00 p.m. We were happy to hear the news that we were able to head home! Grandma Heng was waiting for us at home. Ace and Gaddie welcomed Logan home, but they are still not certain what is going on yet. They are keeping their distance and surprisingly are doing very well with the adjustments.

We made it through our first night without any problems! We set the alarm to make sure we made our three hour feedings and breast feeding went well throughout the evening. He even let us sleep almost 7 hours, lets hope that this continues. Breast feeding has been going much better since the last time I posted, we were blessed with some great nurses while we were in the hospital.

What a great couple of days!

We are so blessed again to see how many friends and family we have to support us as our family has grown. Yesterday, Shannon a fellow Wino stopped by to meet Logan, it was nice to see her and visit, although it has been requested that we don't put her picture on the Internet ;) Our friends Clarissa and Andy brought us supper from Arby's, boy was it great to have some french fries, we have not had them since March! Yummy!!! My boss, Leslie also brought by a plant with a gift card to Pizza Hut (also have not had pizza since March) so we are looking forward to our next trip down to Brainerd to use that! We also continue to receive balloons, plants and flowers from friends and family that don't live close enough to visit. It has been fun to get the special deliveries!

Grandma Heng is back for her second visit this afternoon and will be staying at our place in Hackensack until Friday and will come back again next week to help out with a few things that I have to do for work.

I am in my regular street clothes today, which feels great!! I continue to heal from surgery, but it helps that I have a beautiful little boy to keep me busy from thinking about it. Logan has done a great job of feeding today. We had our first successful feeding last night and it continued through the night and all day today! What a blessing. Thank you for all of those well needed prayers for patience! Our nurses are very happy to see that I had the patience to get through it! We are also very happy to have him eating as he has a case of jaundice! Our nurse called the pediatrician this evening to see if they could put him under the light so that we can hopefully go home tomorrow! He will be there as long as he is sleeping and calm and this will continue throughout the night.

Greetings from our family to yours. We are so fortunate to have so many people in our lives that are wanting to hear about Logan and welcome him into the world! We are so blessed.

We made it through our first night great. We all got alot of sleep, but we are still trying to get Logan to latch on so that we can breast feed. We will continue to be patient with this, but I do request that you send prayers our way for patience! Logan has been having a tough time as he still has some fluids in his tummy, however has been getting it out on his own, thus far. I am very uncomfortable due to the C-Section. I will continue to take it easy, but it is worth every second that I get to be with my son.

Grandma Felton, Aunt Jance and cousins Brandon and Breanna stopped by last night to visit. They were very excited to meet Logan and welcome him into our family. This morning Pastor Mark stopped by to pray and welcome Logan as well. We have his baptism already planned for the middle of September. Logan John was born at 4:21 a.m., weighs 7 lbs. 15 oz. and is 21.5 inches long. He has a beautiful head of hair (he didn't get that from the Heng side) and is absolutely perfect! As you can see in the pictures, after laboring from 5:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. it was decided that we needed to take Logan John out via C-Section. I did take an epidural at midnight, I couldn't handle the pain any longer. However, every time we had a contraction, Logan's heartbeat dropped and appeared to be in distress and since my water had broken we didn't have much choice to wait. I was rolled down to the operating room a little after 3:30 and we delivered Logan at 4:21. John was there right by my side and was able to be with Logan after he was born. I was in the recovery room until 6:00 a.m. and was then brought to meet my new family! We couldn't be happier!!

We have had a few visitors already today. Grandma and Grandpa Heng drove over from DL this morning after we told the news. They are very proud of him!! My friend Theresa from Hackensack was our first visitor after she had an appointment with the OB. We also received visitors from Kelsey, Josh, Anna and Aaron (family of my boss) that stopped by to say hello. We expect to have Johns family with us tonight.

Hospital Update

Hello Family and Friends. I know that some of you are checking on the blog to see what is going on. I will just put up a quick update at this point and maybe another one after we get checked again. We showed up to the hospital at 3:30 and were admitted after being checked. Dr. Rice was here and waiting for us. She attempted to break my water right away and it was too difficult, she thinks because the bag of water was right up next to the baby's head. I didn't make much progress since Friday, was still at 2-3 cm and 50% effaced. I started to have regular contractions but at that point, I couldn't really feel them that much.

She checked again after she checked again close to 5:00 and I was 2-3 cm and 70% effaced. She attempted to break my water again and was able to get a bit of it, so I have been leaking since. Got to love wearing a diaper!

We have been able to get some great hospital food... mmmmmm!

The baby is doing really well and is responding well to contractions. I on the other hand don't like the contractions so much! They are coming about a minute a part and are lasting from 30-45 seconds. I am going to get checked again to see if I have progress in about 20 minutes. I will update again afterwards.

Today has been nothing but an emotional roller coaster. We woke up at 5:00 a.m. to make it down to Brainerd for our appointment at 7:00 a.m. While we were heading out the door, my cell phone rang and it was Labor and Delivery telling me that they are going to postpone my appointment. They said that they would call us back in two to three hours. What a huge disappointment! I called them back around 8:30 and they said that they would know more after noon. I just got off the phone will Dr. Rice and she told me to head down there to get checked out at 3:30. Not certain exactly what that means at this point. So we will keep everyone posted as to if we will be induced or not today. We hope that we will be able to get to meet our little one really soon!

39 weeks, 3 days

Here I am Saturday, August 1st at 39 weeks, 3 days. We are still patiently waiting for Baby Felton to come on his/her own, but no signs thus far (5pm). We are taking today to get the house ready and to get some well needed R & R. We have stocked up the house with food, done all of the laundry and gotten a few other projects completed. Now we wait, we have been praying for our little one to come before tomorrow morning, but we as the day comes to an end, we are not certain that this is the plan! I am extremely anxious about how things will go either tonight or tomorrow morning (ok scared). We can't wait to meet our little one and we pray that everything with labor and delivery of our little one will go well. We will keep people posted tomorrow!

Dr. Appointment Update

We had our appointment with Dr. Rice this morning. We didn't have much progress since Tuesday with dilation or with effacement so she decided to strip my membranes (OUCH). I have had alot more contractions, although they actually started last night, but they have not been consistent or painful at this point. She is anticipating that we will go into labor naturally over the weekend, but if we don't have the baby by Sunday, we will be heading down there at 7:00 a.m. when she will break my water. She did tell me early in my pregnancy that she is shooting for us to deliver around 39 weeks, so I guess she is following through with it. She tells me that studies are showing that labor can be easier and it is less likely to have a c-section if you don't go past your due date. I sure hope that she is right! Other than that, the baby continues to be head down and the head is down pretty far, so that is good too. My blood pressure is good and I am starting to loose some weight, which is always good :)

I told her that I want my body to go through things as natural as possible, that is why she stripped my membranes today. Then if the baby doesn't come by Sunday we will first have my water broke instead of getting induced with medicine. So, I guess we will see if baby Felton is going to make his or her appearance before Sunday or not.

We plan to have our computer with us, so check back with us! Please also send us your prayers for an easy delivery and a healthy baby!

39 weeks! (pictures to follow)

We had a Dr. Appointment on July 28, 2009 (a day shy of 39 weeks). I was 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced. Dr. Rice was impressed with my progress and set us up for another appointment on Friday. She would like to see how much progress we have made before the weekend and indicated that she would give us the option of being induced over the weekend. We are not certain how we feel about being induced. So, we are going to see what progress we have made on Friday and go from there!

Last night was my monthly Walker Wino's gathering and was surprised by a baby shower! We are truly blessed to have these women in our lives. Not only for their support but for their words of wisdom and encouragment. My anxiety has gone down and I told John last night that these women have given me the courage to know that I can get through labor, that it is ok to make mistakes and that God has provided us with a gift and he will help us get through anything that is to come!

We are also able to get really excited for next summer as they bought us a Schwinn Bike Trailer for the baby. John was so excited he put it together last night so that "we are ready to go" next summer. I am not certain that he liked the comment on the card that stated that maybe John would need the bike trailer to give him more support for his bike (training wheels). I think it is pretty funny!

I will have John take pictures of me tonight and get them up soon. I will also put an update up after our Dr. Appointment tomorrow!

38 Weeks!

Yesterday John and I went down to Brainerd for a Doctor's Appointment and went to Gander Mountain afterwards and the lady at the check out asked me when I was due... I said "two weeks". Aparently, this is the first time that I had said it out loud, I nearly fell over! HOLY COW, 2 WEEKS!!

The Dr. checked me out, I have only made a fingertip of progress since last week. She said that I am a fingertip dilated, same on the effacement. Sounds like my cervix is still pretty thick! Well, at least it was something. The baby's heartrate was in the 120's again, which she said was normal. She guessed that the baby's weight was around 7 pounds and must be putting alot of pressure on my tailbone. I had complained to her about it feeling like it is going to poke right through my bottom, so now I am worried that it is going to break during labor. Lets pray that it doesn't happen that way.

We continue to get things ready at the house and I am also trying to get ready mentally. All I need to do now is get alot of rest and put my feet up, Doctors orders!

37 weeks (plus a few days)

Here is a picture of me at 37 weeks (plus 2 days). We had a Doctor's Appointment last week Tuesday, July 14th. The Dr. said that everything looks great, I am measuring right on, exactly where she wanted me for weight gain (ugh) and everything else seems to be normal and progressing. The baby was taking a nap when she checked the heartbeat, so it was in the low 120's. Apparently, this is normal! She checked to see if I had any progress and stated that I am starting to thin out (efface) but I have not dialated. So, I guess we will see what she says again at my next appointment, which is tomorrow.

Updates to Nursery and House are almost done...

Here are a few pictures of the house. We are getting there!! The first two are of the nursery after we were able to get the furniture in there that my dad built. It looks great! I have also included a picture of the living room and dining room with our new paint colors/furniture and carpeting. (We got the furniture in December)

After we moved the furniture in last week, we were able to get everything in the nursery. This is great! Just as stated before though, we have to teach Ace and Gaddie that this is NOT their room. Gaddie thinks that the changing pad is her new bed, well at least it is not the crib, right?

Nursery

Here are a few pictures of the nursery! We had our friends help us out last night to get some of the details together. Johns buddy Kenny came over and helped put up all the trim/door and my friend Lara has helped us pick out the paint color and she came and painted the grass! She is going to come again next week to paint some of the flowers that are on the bedding! Then when we find out what we are having, she is going to come and paint the name on the wall! It is going to be so cute! My dad also built some furniture for the nursery a changing table and armoire. We will be getting that in tonight! It is absolutely beautiful.

As you can see in the picture above, we got the crib together last night and also added the bedding! Yes, we even read the directions!

Now, if only Ace and Gaddie didn't think that this was their room! Gaddie is pretty certain that we put the crib together just for her! Oh boy!

Baby Shower

The baby shower in Hackensack on Saturday was wonderful! We are so blessed to have all of these friends around to support us! It is becoming very real that we will be bringing another life into the world, and VERY soon!! The first picture is of Theresa and Chris, the hostess's of the shower. Anytime these ladies are involved with planning, we get wonderful food. It helps that Theresa is also pregnant, we must think alike!! The second picture is of a few of the ladies at the shower. There has really been a baby boom in Hackensack. Tina and Tanner (3 months), Theresa (due in October), myself and then Shannon and Noah (5 months). How exciting to have all of our children so close in age!

We got our carpet in FINALLY and this means that we can start finishing things up to get ready for the baby to arrive! I can't wait. My mother was able to come for the shower, so I took advantage of her and had her help me do some touch up... Okay, maybe she did the touch up and I watched! She doesn't complain, much :) I have another Dr. Appointment tomorrow, so I will update soon with another belly pic.

36 weeks (the baby is on the way!)

What a busy week we have had! On Sunday after being busy all weekend, I started cramping. I thought, oh boy here we go! But it went away. I have been cramping almost every day and the OB Nurse tells me it is just the baby making his/her way down for the big day! I am patiently waiting. I have also started "dropping" this week and thankfully because I can finally breath again and I don't have the little one in my ribs anymore! On Tuesday John and I went and took Infant and Child CPR and First Aid. What a great refresher for the both of us.

The Fourth of July was Great! The weather was great and we were able to spend it with all of our friends here in Hackensack. We watched the fireworks this year from the boat, with Ace. He did very good!! There is a lot of progress on the house and we hope to get things put back together this weekend. The carpet is getting installed today, so that will give us the go ahead to start putting the nursery together. We are looking forward to getting the crib set up and ready! However, we have been really busy as we decided to put a fresh coat of paint in the living room and dining room, plus all new light fixtures and window treatments. It is going to be like a new house!

I have my second shower this weekend in Hackensack. My friends Theresa and Chris are throwing it for me. My first shower was in May with a few girlfriends from Gamma Phi Beta back in Fargo! It was nice to get together and visit with them. I had not been able to see many of them since our wedding! What an exciting time to celebrate where we have been, plus what is to come!

35 Week Dr. Appointment

I met with the Dr. yesterday afternoon and she says everything is looking good. The baby's heartbeat was around 138-144 and is measuring right on. The baby is already facing the right direction and will check again in two weeks at my next appointment. I asked her how long she would let me go before they would induce and she said no later than 41 weeks but is shooting for me to deliver around 39-40 weeks, so that would put to the last week of July or the begining of August. Ready or not... our baby is coming!

She told me to take it easy due to my low blood pressure and swelling. So, I guess that means I will have to sit by the lake for the next month! :)

35 Weeks

Well only 5 more weeks to go! I have another Dr. Appointment this afternoon, so I guess we will see what she has to say. I have been feeling pretty good this week, only a couple of my dizzy spells due to low blood pressure, but I have people watching out for me.

We continue to work on getting things ready around the house... I may be freaking out a little bit! We have washed everything that we have received thus far and we we are putting things together, so that helps my anxiety a little bit.

Last week we thought that the carpet was ordered and ready to be installed next week, but I guess not. So, hopefully within the next couple of days we can get that all straitened out!

Here is a picture of John after he put together the bouncer... the bear looks upright and happy! Hopefully we can get the baby in there as easy as the bear!

Over the weekend we were back in Fargo and we were able to see a few friends. We were also able to see Amy and Ryan, which was pretty exciting since Amy is due close to two weeks after me. The guys couldn't resist showing us their baby bumps too!

34 Weeks

Well, we are at 34 weeks today, we can't believe that we only have 6 more weeks until we can meet our little one! I have been feeling much better this week with the virus out of my system. Unfortunately, I have started to get heartburn and swollen feet on a regular basis. So tums and foot rubs have become my new favorite things. I also have poison ivy from head to toe, but it is slowly subsiding! We continue to work on the nursery and I am happy to say that it appears that I will be getting the carpet is finally ordered!! Which makes me feel so much better. I sure have become cheap the older that I get. We recieved alot of rain and had a beautiful rainbow over our house, just thought that I would share the picture below.

33 Weeks

Only 7 more weeks to go! AHHHH!!! We are getting anxious excited and anxious nervous at the same time. We are working on getting the nursery ready, I sure hope we can get everything done before the baby arrives! We have taken out the old door, trim and carpet. John and my Mom stained the door and trim and John has finished varnishing everything. The room is painted and my friend Lara is going to come and help us paint grass and clouds (should be SUPER cute) and the final thing we are working on is getting carpet ordered so it can be installed hopefully soon!!

In this picture you will first of all see my MESSY house due to me laying on the couch for 4 days. Then you will see Ace sitting right next to me and Gaddie in the background. We have been training Ace with an electric in ground boundary fence. We put this in the week before we left for our trip and he is not sure what the heck is going on. He can't go and run around anymore! Since John is the one training him, he wants nothing to do with him, so he is right by me as he knows that I won't be the one to do that to him :) Hopefully he will adjust to this though and figure things out so that when the baby does arrive, I can just let him out and not worry about him running into the woods!

The only other change is that I can't wear both my wedding and engagement rings anymore. I have been just wearing my wedding band, but I am thinking that it may be best to just find a fake one that is a bigger size so that I don't have to have any of them cut off! How sad!

Our Trip to Chicago! (32 weeks)

Last weekend we went to Chicago to meet Beth and Ben for the weekend! As you can see we made it to a game at Wrigley field to watch the Twins play! The trip was alot of fun! We did different sight seeing and even gave into our temptation for a bite of their pizza. (John and I took out pizza and french fries back in March until after the baby arrived.) But, we couldn't resist trying Chicago pizza!! Although there was a lot of walking, it was great to spend some time with Beth and Ben and we are looking forward to our next years trip, whatever that may be!

We decided to fly to Chicago so that I wouldn't have to sit in the car for hours and get there in an hour from the cities... on the way home I must have caught something on the plane. I caught some sort of flu bug and have been laying around since I got home on Sunday. I went to the Dr. on Monday and they admitted me into the Family Birthing Center for stress tests on the baby due to decreased fetal movement and high temperature. Although, things with the tests went really good! The baby had a great strong heart beat and was super active once I was hooked up to everything. I went back in again on Tuesday to see my regular Dr. who had me get a ton of lab work done and everything came back indicating that I had a virus that I just had deal with and let it work itself out. Every day has been getting better!

Here is a picture of John and I at our birthing class that we attended! John was able to wear the belly, however he sat pretty much the entire time, so I don't feel too bad for him! He was a good sport though. I think he was pretty excited to do it... MEN!

One new thing that started around 28 weeks was dizzy/faint spells. I have continued to get these however not as frequently. They were happening once a day for about 5-30 minutes depending on the day and what I had or didn't have to eat. When I asked the Dr. about it, she says it has something to do with low blood sugar and that there was nothing that I could do about it during pregnancy as if they wanted to do testing it may put the baby at harm. So, I have been trying to eat a lot of natural sugars and of course a few DQ treats every now and then! This is the opposite problem of gestational diabetes.

27 weeks!

Well here I am at 27 weeks! After many requests, I figure I better put it up here. After talking to my mom, sounds like I may be carrying the baby like she carried both myself and Timmy. ALL OVER! I didn't realize until I had John take this picture yesterday. I am not certain where it is coming from as I have not gained much in the last month, maybe a pound or two. However, it will be all worth it!

I am now pretty obviously pregnant and people are able to tell by just looking at me. Just actually started within the past two weeks or so. Before that, people were just giving me "the look"... is she fat or pregnant? Glad to be past that stage!

The baby is kicking quite a bit and is very active. John was able to feel the baby move about a month ago, but we had to sit and wait for the baby to move. Now that they are getting stronger, it shouldn't be as difficult.

Other than that, we are working on the nursery and hopefully will be able to get things together before August. Gaddie (our cat) isn't very happy that we have torn "her bedroom" apart and she doesn't have anywhere to hide from Ace (the dog). She will just have to find another place!

Ultrasound

On March 23, 2009 we had our "big" ultrasound. The baby was measuring about a week ahead of schedule... I was hoping that they would change my due date to the end of July as it sounds so much closer than August! The ultrasound was pretty amazing, the baby was facing downwards the majority of the time, so we didn't get to see too much. Since then, we had a follow up appointment and Dr. Rice says that everything looks good and the heartbeat continues to be strong. The rate has been between 140-155 at each appointment. I am anxious to see out little one!

4 Weeks

We had our monthly Dr. Appointment on March 9. We listened to the baby's heartbeat again and was about 140 beats per minute. It was exciting to hear it again! We have our another ultrasound on March 23 and NO we won't be finding out what we are having! Although we are very excited to take a peek at our little monkey again. In the past few weeks I have been able to feel the baby moving! What an amazing experience! The first time it happened was at work and I sat there and stared at my tummy wondering if that was actually the baby moving or not. But as the week went on they are getting more frequent and stronger. The Dr. said within the next few weeks John will be able to feel the baby move!!

Heartbeat!

On Friday we had another Doctors appointment. We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat. The baby was moving around alot. Dr. Rice said that the heartbeat was about 150 beats per minute. We were able to get it taped on John's cell phone, so that is fun to hear whenever we want!

John and I are both in Washington D.C. this week. I am here for a national conference on Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention. What a challenge for me to pack as I am in-between clothing. I am starting to show some, I will have to get some pictures on here of the baby bump (small at this point).

We are pregnant!

Hello family and friends! The word is out and we couldn't be more excited. We are due on August 5, 2009. This puts me at about 12 weeks along. We will soon be into the second trimester. I have been feeling pretty good the past two weeks, not that I have had it all that bad to begin with. I have only been nauseated and exhausted. So, I would say that I am pretty lucky. I am looking forward to start eating better and exercising. I was having to eat about every two hours to keep away the naseaus feelings. So, now that we are almost over that hump, I am happy.

Here is our baby's first picture. This was taken at my 10 week appointment. This was probably one of the most amazing experiences of my life. How exciting, this is when it really felt real! Wow there is something growing in there!
